Robert D. Palmer, Jr.

robert palmerMr. Palmer began his career in franchising in May, 1978 and was the original founder, director and Executive Vice President of Franchising Grease Monkey International, Inc. a franchisor of automotive service centers. He served as the President of Grease Monkey Holding Company, Inc. a NASDAQ traded company from late 1981 until 1984.

In 1984 Mr. Palmer founded USA Fast Lube Systems, Inc. and served as its President and Chairman until the company was sold in October 1988. USA Fast Lube Systems was also a public company traded in the OTC market. Most USA Fast Lubes are now Texaco ® Express Lubes.

In 1995 Mr. Palmer founded and was President of NYB Foods, Inc. franchisor of New York Burrito Gourmet Wraps. In September 1999 NYB Foods, Inc. became a public company trading in the OTC market by acquiring Wrapsters, Inc. which changed its name to Uptown Restaurant Group, Inc. Uptown Restaurant Group, Inc. owned several franchised restaurant concepts, including New York Burrito Gourmet Wraps, 1 Potato 2 Franchising Corp., Fasta Pasta Franchising Corporation, and New York Subs and Salads. Uptown was sold to Ultimate Franchise Systems, Inc. in July 2002 after which Mr. Palmer bought New York Subs Franchising, Inc. which in January 2003 changed its name to New York New York Franchising, Inc., franchisor of the upscale New York NY Fresh Deli concept. In March 2006 the New York Fresh Deli concept was sold to Passport Restaurants, Inc.

Mr. Palmer in the past has been an active advisor and consultant to franchisors as follows: ATL International, Inc. (automotive franchises,1995; Re-Bath Franchising Corp. (plastics manufacturing), Director of Franchising, April 1991 through June 1992.

He has served as a consultant to franchisor clients 1984 through 1996 as follows: Spinato’s Pizza International, Inc., Phoenix, AZ, (pizza Restaurants); Surface Renew-All, Inc., Chicago, IL (specialty coatings); The Packaging Store, Inc. (Quik Ship, Inc. division); Taco Rancho, U.S.A. (Mexican fast food); Packaging Plus Services, Inc., (packaging stores); Auto Spa Corporation (automotive franchisor); Shipping Connection, Inc. (packaging stores); Homewatch International, Inc. (home care services).

Mr. Palmer attended the University of Colorado.
